We toured by bus most of South Africa. We began in Capetown at the bottom of the continent and traveled by bus up the west coast, and ended up in Kruger National Park on the east side of South Africa. We traveled back to Johannesburg and flew north for about 2 hours until we reached the country of Zambia. The airport in the small town of Livingston was so refreshing after landing at many very large airports. Livingston is very very close to Victoria Falls and our beautiful hotel was just outside of town right beside the Zambezi River which dumps into a very large canyon known as Victoria Falls.
One day we went for a walking safari in the area near the falls and the hotel. By 10 a.m., the temperature reached 40 degrees celsius. We saw so many animals that day and learned so much about them. Our guide carried a gun just in case. Remember! We were walking.
