oh the places you'll go

Costa Rica

My wife and I were both elementary school teachers and one March Break, we decided to travel to Costa Rica for one week.  We wanted to become one with nature so we decided to go to a small jungle retreat near the surfing village of Puerto Viejo on the Atlantic coast almost at the Panama border.  The place was called La Costa de Papito.  It is located on the beach road one and a half kms from Puerto Viejo town. A lush tropical “Garden of Eden” on the edge of the jungle. The beach was very close to where we were staying.Costa Rica cabana

When we left Cambridge Ontario Canada around 7 a.m., it was in the middle of a very bad snow storm.  We arrived at our destination at 11 p.m. after a long plane ride and an adventurous 6 hour bus ride.  The weather was warm and balmy.  Upon arrival, we were told that my mother had died that morning, so the next day, we built a monument on the beach for her.  My wife and I reminisced over “Kay’s” life.  It was all good!!mom's death costa rica
